Position Overview
The Junior School Teacher (K-6) at Calderwood Christian School plays a pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual, academic, emotional, and social wellbeing of students. Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the teacher is responsible for delivering engaging curriculum content through innovative instructional methods while fostering a respectful and collaborative classroom culture.
This is a full-time, ongoing position, commencing Monday 21 July 2025 (although start date could be negotiable for the right candidate).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a Christ-centered learning environment that promotes spiritual growth and academic achievement.
- Utilise evidence-based teaching strategies and assessment methods to cater to diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to enhance curriculum delivery and student wellbeing.
- Engage with parents to foster a strong sense of community and partnership in education.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator who embodies the values of Calderwood Christian School. The successful candidate will be a committed Christian actively involved in their local church, with a strong desire to integrate faith into their teaching.
- Possess relevant tertiary qualifications in education from a recognised institution.
- Hold current registration and accreditation with NESA.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Exhibit excellent classroom management and effective communication skills.
This role requires a deep commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment that encourages student engagement and success, both academically and personally.
